10 Ways To Use Hot Sauce

These are our recommendations for how you should use your hot sauces. From wing sauces like Buffalo Hot Sauce, to Sriracha and everyday hot sauces like Original Hot Sauce, this is your guide to using the hot sauces you have in the fridge.

1. To add heat to one pot dishes

Cooking a chilli, pasta or any other one pot dish and want to add a dash of heat? Reach for a hot sauce. You can add a small amount of our Habanero Ketchup to a chilli for a fruity kick and it saves messing around with extra seasonings or chopping up a chilli to add.

2. With wings

Perhaps an obvious suggestion but one we couldn't miss out. Pretty much all hot sauces work with chicken wings (or cauliflower). Our go-to is Buffalo Hot Sauce, which is literally made for wings - you can find our Ultimate Easy Buffalo Hot Wing recipe here. But in truth, any hot sauce will work - you could try a chilli jam for sticky, sweet wings and if we're going off-piste, you could easily switch hot sauce for BBQ sauce here and have smoky, sweet BBQ wings. Equally as good in our opinion!

3. To spice up a sandwich

Need to make your sandwich more exciting? Add hot sauce! One to try would be a classic Bahn-Mi with Sriracha Chilli Sauce. If you're making grilled cheese sandwiches of any form, add a sweet and fruity sauce to offset the cheese... we'd recommend one of our chilli jams.

4. Add to a stir fry

There's not a lot better than a speedy bowl of noodles and veggies, is there? To top that, add a sharp/sweet sauce to it. We would suggest Sriracha Chilli Sauce, our take on the classic Asian condiment.

5. On any brunch dishes

Brunch and hot sauce is a formidable combo. The list of what you can do here is pretty much endless... you could spice up eggs with Original Hot Sauce, add Sriracha Chilli Sauce to Shakshuka or drizzle Scotch Bonnet Chilli Jam on a Dishoom style bacon naan.

6. Take tacos to the next level

In need of a fruity hit to balance a taco? Hot sauce is your best friend. Go for something light and fruity that complements the other ingredients in your taco. You might want something really fresh and fruity, like our Habanero Hot Sauce or you could go with Scotch Bonnet Chilli Jam which is quite smoky (try our chipotle chicken taco recipe).

7. Add more flavour to your salad

Not your typical salad dressing, but one we'd highly recommend. Time to add some heat to your salads! Our Amarillo Chilli Jam is about to be your best friend, it's super fruity from the Aji Amarillo chillies and has a medium heat score. Hot sauce not your thing? Go for a mayo... we used Chipotle and Lime Aioli as a base for a zingy Mexican-inspired corn salad

8. With soup

Soup is wicked, but sometimes it needs a little dash of heat. As we said with the tacos above, pair your hot sauce to your style of soup. If you've got a simple tomato soup, you'll probably want to use a hot sauce without too many elements, our Original Hot Sauce would be perfect. If you've got a soup and want more zing, pick a sweeter/fruiter hot sauce to pair.

9. Drizzled on pizza

What's your go-to condiment for pizza? It may be a garlic dip, a spicy mayo or a hot sauce. Which hot sauce depends on your pizza - if you had a pizza topped with chicken you could use Buffalo Hot Sauce. For most pizza's from margheritas to meat feasts we'd recommend Honey Sriracha Drizzle or chilli jam - basically anything hot and sweet.

10. Make your mayo more exciting

Not a dish suggestion, but it is something you can do with hot sauce. Mix some hot sauce with a classic mayonnaise to make a flavoured mayo. The options are endless and totally depends on your taste.

If that's too much hassle, have a look at our mayo range instead
